• No natural field !

• River flowing slowly

• Pond
Both images show a small pond called in Japanese "Tamari" which is meant by English "the water accumulating in the large river area". Other than the natural pond as an independent water system, there is an artificial reservoir for irrigation, small pond adjoining to the big lake, and the water accumulating near(or in) the large river area. Among these ponds, the natural pond has decreased with influence of land development. As to small pond adjoining to the lake, the recently water quality becoming bad, it reaches and the imported fishes have become many and the environment where you can live the Japanese bitterling has become extent distant ones. When the imported fish has entered into also the accumulating which is the river area of the big river is many, is, but when rising, there is a feature that the living thing inserts largely and substitutes. Because of that, with several of water accumulating in the big river area, it is possible to look at the Japanese bitterling. As for the accumulating pond of population those which stop being utilized excessively with the change of agricultural environment of recent years, are many, is. But, because those ponds which even now are used in irrigation purpose are managed securely, there is a big posibility of the Japanese bitterling stays in this kind of ponds.
• Lake & Dam-lake
Images show of lake-shore the "Lake BIWA" in Shiga-pref. in Japan. Because the lake and the dam lake are immense water system, in the case of the imported fishes are alive here, the Japanese bitterling exist and alive too.
